This project is a visual representation of the vast landscapes I grew up around in North Texas and the constructed elements which characterize this unique topography. Dilapidated fences, while virtually useless, create a barrier to the outside world. Telephone poles provide an outside connection in the middle of nowhere. Enormous windmills, seen from miles away, dot the barren landscape. Blocks of color frame the existing colors in the landscapes, idealizing these vast spaces.
My digital process revolves around notions of play, as well as a desire to reject conventional photographic representations of the landscape. With digital imaging, I construct new environments while focusing on the main elements of rural North Texas.
